University Jean Price-Mars (UJPM)

Almost all of Port-au-Prince's universities were destroyed by the January 12, 2010 earthquake, leaving thousands of students and professors under the rubble.

The need of the young survivors to continue their university education was paramount. To meet their needs in the long term, to promote the training and establishment of qualified professionals in the Central Plateau, we have decided to open a university in Hinche.

The subjects taught since April 2010 are business management, accounting, civil engineering, agronomy, nursing and business law. Teaching was given in Hinche by a branch of the University Jean Price Mars, of which Jean Claude François had been appointed rector

A campus has been built in a 10-hectare park. UJPM Hinche has a structure that can accommodate 6 faculties and 6000 students.
